چکیده

Background With the increase in life expectancy, number of people with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is rising rapidly. Considering pathways AD, one its fundamental processes oxidative stress, affecting central nervous system and cell regeneration. Interestingly, last decades, photobiomodulation has shown positive effects on neural cells that are compromised by AD. Studies have demonstrated LED (light emitting diode) irradiation regulates function, stimulating proliferation, promoting biomodulation cytoskeleton, reducing apoptosis. To contribute elucidation importance this study aims to evaluate neuroprotective effect, comparing different energy density irradiating SH-SY5Y (human neuroblastoma) under effect stress induced hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Method were cultivated DMEM/F12 medium (Dulbecco’s modified Eagles - Gibco), supplemented 10% fetal bovine serum 1% antibiotic antimycotic, at 37°C, an atmosphere 5% CO2. Cells plated 24-well plates. After adhesion, irradiated 660 nm (LED Biopdi/Irrad-Led5), densities 1 J/cm2, 3 5 J/cm2 10 J/ cm2. 24 h after irradiation, was 200 μM H2O2 for 24h (this parameter had been previously determined ROSSATO, R. C. et al, 2021). Result Once stressed, a considerable statistic difference observed all evaluated, compared stressed-only group Importantly, lowest obtained better statistical mithocondrial activity (p < 0.0001). Conclusion It possible determine compare promote cellular photobiomodulation, inducing neubroblastoma. vitro model AD approaching novel concepts preventive tool. al. Oxidative Stress and Human Disease: a Review

Background: The human body needs both types of oxidants (free radicals) and antioxidants for normal metabolism, signal transduction mechanism, and the order of cellular activity. Free radicals can be either harmful or helpful to the body, in fact, they play a dual role as both toxic and beneficial compounds. The human body has the natural antioxidant defense mechanism to counteract the free rad...

Edible bird’s nest ameliorates oxidative stress-induced apoptosis in SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells

BACKGROUND Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder affecting the senile population with manifestation of motor disability and cognitive impairment. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) is implicated in the progression of oxidative stress-related apoptosis and cell death of the midbrain dopaminergic neurons. Its interplay with mitochondrial functionality constitute...

Effects of Photobiomodulation Therapy on Oxidative Stress in Muscle Injury Animal Models: A Systematic Review

This systematic review was performed to identify the role of photobiomodulation therapy on experimental muscle injury models linked to induce oxidative stress. EMBASE, PubMed, and CINAHL were searched for studies published from January 2006 to January 2016 in the areas of laser and oxidative stress. Any animal model using photobiomodulation therapy to modulate oxidative stress was included in a...

Mitochondrial isocitrate dehydrogenase protects human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells against oxidative stress.

The neuroprotective effect of mitochondrial isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDPm), an enzyme involved in the reduction of NADP(+) to NADPH and the supply of glutathione (GSH) in mitochondria, was examined using SH-SY5Y cells overexpressing IDPm (S1). S1 cells showed higher NADPH and GSH levels than vector transfectant (V) cells and were more resistant to staurosporine-induced cell death than controls...

Protein expression regulation under oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress is known to affect both translation and protein turnover, but very few large scale studies describe protein expression under stress. We measure protein concentrations in Saccharomyces cerevisiae over the course of 2 h in response to a mild oxidative stress induced by diamide, providing detailed time-resolved information for 815 proteins, with additional data for another ~1,100 ...
